ThoroughClean and Newcrest Mining in PNG have joined forces to equip Newcrest’s refurbished mobile pressure cleaning truck with the finest in high pressure water blasting equipment. Which gave Newcrest a market leading mine spec water blaster to use in a remote mine site application.
How we started the mine spec water blaster process
We started the process by identifying what the mine site required from the refurbishment project. They need reliability due to the remote nature of the mine site, and a diesel engine that could provide a pump with enough power to generate 5000psi.
How the refurbish came together
We integrated a 32 HP Perkins diesel engine with a 7200 PSI Hawk pump. Then we enclosed in both the motor and pump in ThoroughClean’s industry leading heavy duty galvanised frame.
The frame provided a robust chassis with which to design the build. The design gave Newcrest the durability and performance needed for operating in a remote mining site in PNG.
Newcrest also added a low pressure, high flow pump on the rear for general wash-down and flashing with the addition of a spray bar for gravity fed dust suppression.
The final master stroke by Newcrest was to add a platform on top of the tank for cleaning access of the larger equipment on site.
Why the mine spec water blaster application mattered
When operating in remote mining applications its critically important to ensure that the water blasters can operate to the peak of performance.
We believe that need to understand our customers application to engineer purpose built pressure cleaning solutions. So the Hawk Pump was detuned to 5000 PSI to ensure pump life and performance is maximised for remote operations.
This mine spec water blaster purpose built pressure cleaning solution is another great example of ThoroughClean’s commitment. When it comes to working with our client’s to achieve the best results while working to meet a budget.
